Flat Rack shipping containers are specially designed to carry irregular sized and heavy loads of cargo.

For example steel pipes, power poles, machinery and mining equipment. Gateway offers collapsible and fixed end designs or without walls i.e. Bolsters. Manufactured from heavy duty steel, our flat rack shipping containers come in 20 ft and 40 ft sizes.

Flatracks are available in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes in both fixed-end and collapsible configurations. Flatracks are ideal for shipping oversized items such as:

  • Heavy machinery

Flat Rack Containers Usage

1. Flat Rack container 20’

  • Especially for heavy loads and over-width cargo
  • Strong bottom construction with fixed endwalls (which allow bracing and lashing of cargo as
  • well as stacking);
  • Fork-lift pockets on a number of 20’ flats.
  • Numerous very strong lashing devices on the corner posts, longitudinal rails and on the floor.
  • Lashing devices on the longitudinal rails of 20’ containers have a permissible load of 2.000 kg
  • or 4.000 kg respectively (4.410 lbs. or 8.820 lbs. respectively) each.
  • Maximum payload can only be used if distributed over the total floor area of flat-rack.
  • Note permissible weight limits for road and rail transport.

2. Flat Rack container 40’

  • Especially for heavy loads and over-width cargo
  • Strong bottom construction with fixed endwalls (which allow bracing and lashing of cargo as
  • well as stacking).
  • Gooseneck tunnel on both ends of all 40’ flats.
  • Numerous very strong lashing devices on the corner posts, longitudinal rails and on the floor.
  • Lashing devices on the longitudinal rails of 20’ containers have a permissible load of 2.000
  • kg or 4.000 kg respectively (4.410 lbs. or 8.820 lbs. respectively) each.
  • Maximum payload can only be used if distributed over the total floor area of flat-rack.
  • Note permissible weight limits for road and rail transport.
